This is one of the most basic repairments of laminate floorboards. Scratches on the floor surface is inevitable, no matter how careful you are. These scratches, or even cracks can easily be fixed using a floor repair kit. These kits are easy to use and they offer a variety of colors that can match your floor’s color.

Here is the instruction for the floor repair kit:

  • Step 1: Clean the floor, make sure it is fully dry before do anything further
  • Step 2: Use a sharp chisel to round off the scratch’s edges
  • Step 3: Use the heater in the repair kit to heat up the tip, then use the tip to melt the hard wax, we recommend you to use 2 or 3 colors for a more consistent wood-like appearance
  • Step 4: Apply the wax onto the damaged area, filling or covering the flaw
  • Step 5: Use the rasp to remove any excess wax and even out the repair spot with the floor.

  • Step 4: Place back the boards into original position
  • Step 5: Place the scotia and skirting back to the wall.

Middle of the room:

  • Step 1: Mark the edges of the broken board with tape for easier cutting
  • Step 2: Cut the center of the board, you can drill some holes along the edges of the removing area
  • Step 3: Cut from the center to the outer edge, then remove the rest of the plank
  • Step 4: Add some wood adhesive around the edges beneath the plank
  • Step 5: Fit the board back to place, secure it with a hammer
